Banda Thrash Metal formada en EE.UU

Fue fundada en el parque de Huntington (no Huntington Beach como se ha divulgado a menudo), California en 1982 por los guitarristas Kerry King y Jeff Hanneman, reclutando para la banda al bajista/vocalista de origen chileno Tom Araya y al baterista de origen cubano Dave Lombardo. Lombardo ha estado dentro y fuera de la banda varias veces, pero los otros integrantes han sido constantes. Hanneman y King son los compositores principales del grupo.

La banda ha sido fuertemente criticada por grupos religiosos de ser una banda de Rock satánico, debido a que tanto sus letras como el arte de sus álbumes tratan con temas como satanismo, violencia, asesinatos en serie y guerras, y se le ha acusado de apoyar el nazismo. Esta última acusación debida a la afición de Jeff Hanneman a coleccionar material de temática nazi y por letras como la canción "Angel Of Death", que trata sobre la figura de Josef Mengele. Sin embargo, los miembros del grupo niegan estas imputaciones, asegurando que simplemente están interesados en el tema. Aunque se rumorea que Tom es muy apegado al cristianismo.

Desde su debut en 1983, la banda ha lanzado dos álbumes en vivo, dos compilaciones y diez álbumes de estudio, y han vendido más de cuatro millones de álbumes sólo en los Estados Unidos. Han recibido dos nominaciones al Grammy, ganando una en 2007 por la canción "Eyes Of The Insane" y liderado festivales mundiales como el Ozzfest y el Download Festival. y han sido catalogados como uno de los Cuatro Grandes Thrash Metal junto con Metallica, Anthrax y Megadeth (The Big Four O' Thrash).

Megadeth

Megadeth, banda estadounidense liderada por su fundador y principal compositor, Dave Mustaine. Creada en 1983 despues de que Mustaine fuese despedido de Metallica (donde fue guitarrista), desde sus comienzos la banda ha lanzado diez álbumes de estudio, tres EPs y dos álbumes en vivo.

Como una de las pioneras del movimiento thrash metal estadounidense, Megadeth llega a ser reconocida internacionalmente en la década de 1980, pero estuvo condenada a cambios constantes en la formación principal, en parte a causa del abuso de sustancias por parte de Dave Mustaine. Después de estar sobrio y encontrar una formación estable tras haber estado ingresado en una clínica a causa de sus problemas de adiccion, Megadeth empieza a lanzar una cadena de álbumes platino y álbumes de oro, incluido el álbum multi-platino y nominado al Grammy, Countdown to Extinction en 1992. Megadeth se disolvió en el 2002 despúes de que Mustaine sufriese una grave lesión nerviosa en su brazo izquierdo, pero despúes de una intensa terapia física, Mustaine reformará la banda en el 2004 y Megadeth lanzaría el álbum The System Has Failed. Este fue un grupo musical de rock formado en San Francisco, California, en el año 1982, proveniente de la escena underground y heavy metal. Con la llegada del vocalista Mike Patton, en 1989, dieron un giro a su sonido, estando influenciados por el metal de bandas como Black Sabbath mezclándolo en sus inicios con el hip hop y el punk. Su evolución fue constante, y Mike Patton lo utilizó como laboratorio de experimentación, pasando por el thrash metal, el heavy metal, el funk, el rock progresivo, el soul, el hip hop y el jazz.

Muse - Black Holes & Revelations [2006]

Black Holes And Revelations es el nombre de la nueva producción del conjunto británico que salió el 3 de julio de 2006. El nuevo álbum del grupo de matthews bellamy tiene singles como Supermassive Black Hole (UK), Knights of Cydonia (US) y Starlight.

Este, su cuarto trabajo de estudio, sigue la línea estilística de su anterior disco, Absolution, con un estilo musical menos agresivo y mucho más oscuro, además de contar con letras más ideológicas que en sus dos primeros trabajos. En este nuevo disco tienen cierto sonido urbano, como pone de manifiesto la canción "Supermassive Black Hole", en la que se acercan bastante al sonido de grupos como Franz Ferdinand; sin embargo, Bellamy asegura que siempre le gustó ese estilo y que ya tenía pensado desarrollarlo antes de haberles oído.
